In December / January definitely consider lagoon fishing over reef or deep sea. The waters are night and day — very rough except for the lagoon!

I would recommend keeping at least a couple options open as far as days. The weather was pretty rough and we only had one day to fish. It would've been nice to have a couple options.

October is great for Mahi. Bring sunblock, neck/face shields. Plan on looking and stopping at every tree. He knows they will even hide under a single coconut in groups of 5-10. Trolling is optimal till a large active feeding pod is found. 4-8 miles offshore. Listen to him...he knows!!!

Offshore Fishing Pelagic Trip
When fishing, especially for the first time, catching fish is not guaranteed. An experienced captain greatly tilts the favor on your side. I recommend Captain Luis to any angler!! The boat was clean n ready. He had all the bait prepared in advance especially when we got on the Mahi Mahi. This allowed us to catch more at a fast pace. Afterwords, cooler with drinks to get your second wind. Good Liska and safe fishing!!!

One small recommendation – if you're not used to being out on the ocean, I suggest taking some Dramamine before the trip to avoid getting seasick. It will make the experience even more enjoyable! 🎣

Wear plenty of sun screen it is hot & humid out there. There were some mosquitoes out there also so bring bug spray with you too. Other then that go out have a good time & listen & trust your Captain!!!!
