Ensure you communicate your preferences (large fish higher risk of not catching any, or Coastal fish (higher probability of catching fish) or combination of both. In our instance we were lucky that we snagged 3 large yellow tail tuna (brought one home) and every on the boat caught near limits of Calico Bass (let the breeders and most go to help with sustainability). Took home and cooked a couple pounds of fresh fish with friends. Delicious.

For first time fishers … you may consider following the inspired directions from Stewarts Fishing on taking something the night before to help prevent getting sea sick. It would have made the trip that much better for a few in our party. :)

fishing is fishing! the definition of fishing is a hook and bait at one end and a fool at the other end. we didnt catch a monster load of fish but we did catch enough to have aome tasty fish tacos. these guys got us on the fish and we had a wonderful time.

We had a great day, caught lots of fish and good company. We spent a week in Oceanside and fishing was the highlight of our visit,…. according to our grandson. But then he did catch a shark. So much fun.

december isnt peak season, but we were able to snag some bonita while trolling and tons of rockfish, sculpin, and white fish while bottom fishing

From what we heard, September is slowing down. We got lucky and caught a couple halibut. If you’re looking for dorado (mahi mahi), do that in July or August.
