Weve been catching some nice Spanish mackerel (some great sushi material) mangrove snapper are still around. Red fish are getting hot. Not to mention snook and gag grouper just opened!! Call for a good time!!

Fishing has been pretty consistent lately. After the full moon, the bait has been on the smaller side, but we managed to cast net some sizable pilchards. The big snook were more than happy to see them, making for an exciting and rewarding experience on the water.

Ending summer with a bang!

As we are closing in on the end of summer time, the fishing we only heat up even more as numerous amounts of bait roams around the bay area. This time of year it is very common to get your Tampa bay grand slam which consists of tarpon, redfish, snook and trout.

We were a couple of weeks early from a water temperature perspective for catching some of the larger species, but the captain knew we were looking to catch and release for fun, so he put us in perfect position to have constant action all day with the right locations, bait and setup. Communication in advance is important so you know what will likely be running during your trip in March because of the changeover in water temperature.
