The trout was all we caught. We would have had to go quite a ways off shore to get much else and the wind was pretty rough gusting to about 20 mph.

Since the water is getting very hot in August most of the catch would be in earlier morning hours. Gulf fish will get lazy towards 11am - noon and not bite as much this time of the year. Therefore you are better off with a 4 hour trip and leaving as early as possible.
