Fresh Newaygo Fishing Reports

Our fall on the Muskegon river is off to a great start! Multiple hookups everyday. Big steelhead this fall, our fishery has been booming the last few years. The size of the fish is beginning to show proof! Give me a call now to book your fun filled day on the water!!

Spring steelhead is in full swing! We have some fish spawning and lots yet to start. The month of april is going to fish really well.

Steelhead are biting and the sun is shining! Join is on the Muskegon River for some excellent steelhead action. The bite has been great and will increase as we get closer to April. More rain in the forecast and fish on the way!

The fishing on the Muskegon river has been awesome all spring getting into double digit fish is the normal. We are using conventional tackle and getting floats to drop. The rest of spring is looking to be fantastic with lots of fish around.

Spring steelhead fishing is in full swing now. We are seeing fresh fish moving into the river systems daily. Hokking double digits each trip is the normal. Going to be a great March and April on the river!!!!

I'm sad to summer go, but for me, we enter my favorite time of year! With most people going North to pack rivers to chase King Salmon, I'm loving how quickly the rivers I enjoy become quiet!!! I do river fishing Salmon, but I'm over the crowds and prefer to have miles and miles of river to myself. With the cooler nights, I'm starting to find Pike more spread out throughout the Pine River and on the hunt to prepare for their winter. Classic Mepps #5's have been working the best for me with the majority of fish still caught near structure but have found some out in the open cruising for a meal. As it continues to get cooler, I'm anticipating someone getting a true Michigan Giant this FALL! Smallies and Whopper Ploppers aren't as fire as it was a few weeks ago, but it's still producing. But Smallies remain aggressive as they're starting to prepare for colder days and want to take advantage of an easy meal.
