Even though the water temps have been stagnant since opener, the walleyes are still biting! We are continuing to catch a great mixed bag of fish with plenty of eater sized walleyes as well as big walleyes!

Tons of BIG WALLEYES are being caught on trips right now! We are putting plenty of eaters in the boat right now as well, but even morenotable than that is the number of opportunities at nig walleyes we are getting. We are putting a bunch of 25-30 inch walleyes in the boat. These fish need to be selectively targeted, but they arent usually too far away from the eater sized fish.

My job isnt to fish from 7-3 or 8-4, my job is to put my customers on the best bite possible. We changed this trip to 2-10 pm to hit the best bite window and it paid off. Depsite the flat calm conditions, we mananged a decent walleye bite.

It was one of those days that would be considered good for a duck. Wet, cold, windy. But that can also spell a good recipe for Northern Pike, and today was an example of that. Trolling at 2.6 mph was the ticket

It was a cold one today, but boy did the fish cooperate. It really didn’t matter what we did we caught fish. We got the first musky of the season, even though it’s not open, but you can’t help it when you’re fishing Pike. It was really blowing today, but we could manage a good controlled drift and picked up a few walleyes a bunch of largemouth and some more pike. We even ended the day catching some postponed crappies but boy it sure was a chilly one.

For ice fishing, bring hand and toe warmers. I learned that the boots I have aren't great for warmth on the ice and the toe warmer chemical packets I out in under my toes saved the day.

Totally depends on the weather. We happened to hit it just after a cold front, and the Northern’s and walleye were not biting much. Caught lots of bass and still had fun.
