Trout moving out

We have been finding some specks with our sheeps head lately. The trout are moving out pf the bayous and stacking up in my holes. Flounder bite has been getting hot as well.

We had to postpone a day and search for the fish. Once we found a few it was pretty steady. Dan caught the biggest sheepshead to date on our boat. The weather was less then desirable but the fishing sure is heating up. Thanks again to Dan and Jack for a memorable trip.

Warmer weather, hot bite

The weather has warmed up the past few days. I did some scoutung and caught alot of speckled trout. There were alot of smaller fish but several made the cut amd we tagged several as well.

Cold water fishing

I went out two days after the snow. The trout have left most of the bayous i fish but the sheephead and puppy drum have moved in. The 14-16” drum are delicious amd put on a good fight.

What anglers said about fishing in Pass Christian

Pop up showers are regular, if you are uncomfortable being rained on bring a rain jacket. Also gnats and biting flies are common, bug spray that is high in deet is a good thing. Our cpt had some but I always travel with some as well.

We had a lot of near catches and came away with 7 keepers. The captain said the best time for fishing in the area is May and June. We plan to do a future trip in that timeframe.
