This is a bite that I look forward to every year. Smallmouth bass will stack up in fast water in the months of September and October, bouncing golden shiners and 26 feet of water. Huge difference from yesterday with the same group. Hot air temps, blue skies, no clouds and sunny winds south to southwest around 15 mph sustained. The river was very fast. Caught fish at smugglers and at the beach. We worked for only a dozen bass or so. Very tough fishing. Tried worm harnesses and plugs with no success

Morning bite for bass was quality, not quantity. Fish i. The 4 to 5 lb class came to the boat. Walleye fishing during the day only produced a few bites. However, the evening bite made up for it. Big walleye tonight with only a few unders that came in. We jigged my typical night pattern and produced great quality fish. The wind laid down, keeping the river calm. Air temp low 70s water temperature 73.4 degrees

We fished from 6:30 in the morning until around 10:30 in the morning. Walleye bite was great on the lake, but that bite was short-lived. Once that slowed, we focused our attention on smallmouth bass, that bite was good. We were able to get off the water before the extreme heat wave came in. Water temperature, seventy one degrees lake and river were both flat calm with no wind.

The Motning bite was good for a short period on the Niagara bar. Once the sun got high and no cloud cover the walleye fishing fell right off. Bass bite was good at first then fell off as well with the mid day heat. Air temperature 88 degrees. Water temperature is 71 degrees. Used worm harnesses for walleye and crayfish for bass

morning bass fishing was pretty good. As the sun came up and the weather got hotter, the bite became tougher, and tougher river temperature was 71° air temps mid 80s winds were out of the West drifted live bait for bass was able to get one walleye on a spinner. And a much larger walleye on a jig, I definitely had to work for fish today
