Great “bouy 10” fishing

Chinook salmon fishing has been outstanding this season! As salmon fishing continues to get better and better through the end of august, more Coho salmon should start to show up as well! With more and more fish in the system, its making some of the best salmon fishing we have seen in YEARS down on the lower columbia!

Astoria is on fire !!

Wow, what a great start to the 2022 Columbia River fall salmon run! We are currently fishing out of Astoria Oregon near the mouth of the columbia river where these fish are fresh from the ocean. Fishing is off to a great start and is only going to get better. I still have plenty of dates available if you are looking to get out and fish the famous bouy 10 fishery.

Dress appropriately, don't set your fishing expectations too high for end of season, it could be incredible or very very slow. The weather may be treacherous in October pay attention to the weather forecast when planning your fishing day.

When going out on a boat - arrive 10 minutes early. It is best to wear waterproof clothing even on dry days. Use the restroom before heading out. It is best to thoroughly wash your hands after applying sunscreen, and eating jerky or smoked salmon. The scent is bad.

The fog bank in the PNW can come and go pretty quick, and it can go from a cold foggy day to a warm sunny one . so prepare for sun or drizzle and bring sunscreen and layers.

Make sure you have layers and be prepared to be on the ocean. We had a calm day but could see getting sea sick easily if it is rough. Awesome time though.

Take medication an hour in advance if you get seasick. Bring rain gear and boots because it is cooler on the water and that boat will be rockin' in the waves! Have so much fun, it's a blast!

Great area to fish in the ocean. Bring Rain gear just in case weather changes. Better to be safe than sorry. Your fishing trip might not be as memorable if you are wet and cold.Had a great time for our first.

Smart to over prepare for changing weather conditions, there’s nowhere to hide and on the water it can be cold and rough. There’s no bathroom so just know and adjust.
