Fresh Clover Fishing Reports

July is not usually a month to catch SLAB Crappie but we sure did today. We had some monster Lake Wylie Crappie & Perch plus enough Bass to win most Bass tournaments. It was HOT but we sure did catch some nice fish this morning.

The morning started out slow but patience paid off, as the afternoon bite picked up and we caught and released 3 Nice Flat Head Catfish plus numerous blue catfish. One of the flat heads weighed over 30 lbs and was landed by a 12 year old angler after a tremendous fight. We also boated a ton of perch, crappie and spotted bass during the trip.

Early morning bite for Blue Catfish at Lake Norman was hot this morning. With the 90 degree water temps, the fish are suspended 20-40 ft over 100 ft on Lake Norman.

Another Big morning of Cat fishing with the Carolina Angler. We caught and released 3 nice Flat heads and multiple Blue Cat fish in a 4 hour morning trip.

2 of my regular customers had an AWESOME Saturday of cat-fishing this past weekend. We boated 21 Catfish with 4 over the 20 lb mark plus numerous other cat fish in the 10-15 lb range. We also caught over 100 white perch just for fun while waiting for the big cats to bite. Given the Heat Index was 105 and the boat traffic was horrendous, we felt like catching 21 nice catfish was a pretty impressive morning of fishing for July. I guess that's why these guys fish with me about 2X a month year round.

It was an extremely hot morning but we still managed to boat some nice Blue Cat Fish and over 100 white perch.
