Fresh Ripon Fishing Reports

Today was a fantastic day on the water with my clients during a half-day morning trip on Green Lake, Wisconsin. Despite the overcast skies, the fishing conditions were excellent. We located several pods of baitfish and worked them effectively using drop shots and tube baits. The fish were aggressive and active, making for an exciting morning. One of the highlights of the trip was a client landing his very first smallmouth bass—his smile said it all! In just a few hours, we boated big northern pike, rock bass, and some great smallmouth. It was an action-packed outing, and I couldn’t be happier with how the day turned out. Looking forward to seeing these clients again soon for more time on the water!

Today was his first time targeting smallmouth, and conditions were just right. We missed a few bites early on, but once he got the hang of it, things came together nicely. Between the tubes and the drop shot, he managed to land a few solid smallies! We fished a variety of depths, anywhere from 17 to 40 feet, and found success across the board. Green Lake continues to be a fun and productive spot, and today was no exception. Overall, it was a great day on the water. The clients went home happy, and that’s what it’s all about.

This was a graat day, Cash is my son but he landed his first Smallie! He was able to target smallies rhat were fedding off of ledges through his bed (that he chosse) at the ripplies and landed rhis amazing fish. They wee chasing minnows i put the spot lovk on and he had a great time. I cant wait to see how he progresses as an angler. His custom rod worked perfectly and i know he will be guiding someday….. So easy that a toddler can catch them the summer pattern is on!

The Smallmouth Bass on Big Green Lake are finally starting to cooperate again and settle into their reliable summer patterns. With stable weather on our side, the bite has been strong—and it’s only getting better from here! As you can see from the big smile on this happy client’s face, the action has been hot and the memories unforgettable. These two have fished many times with me through out the years and they have learned so much. Its great to watch them grow as anglers and have fun on the water.

These photos meant so much to him as he has never fished the techniques i taught and these werent rhe biggest fish caught in the rain it was hard to get good photos but his year was made. The trip was a gift and he cant wait to come back he even caught a 15lb catfish
