It was chilly and choppy on the lake, with the water temperature about 47 and the air about 55. But the captain provided a boat with a cabin so we could stay out of the wind until fish were on the line. Two years ago on a different charter, our guide wouldn't go out on Lake Michigan because it was choppy, but Captain Mark took us out anyway and negotiated the waves expertly.

Conditions change quickly and can be somewhat unpredictable. We had low 60s at launch and when we finished we were in high 70s. Went from rainy overcast and clear blue skies in an hour.
