The Captain will communicate about the fish that are biting and monitor the weather conditions. He will cancel if he feels it would be unsafe. Felt very comfortable that the Captain who regarded our safety as a priority. Asked whether we had any experience and instructed us on what to watch for and how to manage the poles. Definitely would use Crabby Charters (Craig Best) again.

Crabby Charters - Trout & Salmon
Pack a small bag with warm clothes just in case. If you want to Learn Captain Shawn and Al are very informative, these guys will try to accommodate in anyway they can. You literally get on the boat reel the fish in and they will clean and package them. Very easy and well worth the money to go out fir a day of fishing!

Captain Mike and Kurt were super nice and very knowledgeable! They made the whole experience very easy and enjoyable. They both provided us with tons of information which is great for first timers. Even if you’re not a first timer, it is still an awesome experience and i would highly recommend it.

I’d consider the morning trip. the waters can get warmer during the day, but as he said there’s no real way to predict. It’s still great being out on Lake Michigan on a nice summer day. Also, maybe talk to kids about cleaning in advance to see if they want to participate. Great learning opportunity!

It was fast and furious before the sun went up we had 10 fish. Th biggest one hit at 9:00 a.m. 23lbs king.

Feelin Fishy Sport Fishing
We originally booked for afternoon trip, but weather coming in made us switch to morning. Left at 3:30am, very choppy and made a few of us sick, so be warned. I think morning trip made the difference and we hooked 21 fish. Amazing experience and we have a freezer full of salmon that we are taking home.

They need to expect the Lake to have varrying conditions. When we first started our trip it was very rough and wavey. By the time our trip ended the lake had calmed down.

Mid July is not the best time to go after walley, but Chris moved around and made it happen. Te quality of fish was definitely worth not catching a ton of fish.
