Winds were moderately strong. We were on a smaller boat so the ride often felt choppy. But this was expected (I had been in touch with Captain Sean leading up to the trip), we never felt unsafe, and in fact, the kids felt the thrill of being on a fast boat in slightly stronger winds.

It was a little windy but the weather was beautiful. A warm afternoon led to choppy seas but it was nothing to be concerned about.

It’s a good intro to open water fishing. The waves aren’t too high but there’s some rougher areas. Even if you’re not actively catching fish, the surroundings are beautiful to sight see.

Book, book, book the Josie Mac by far the best boat and charter out there. This is coming from a grand father who has 40 plus charters under his belt.

Russo's is a great marina with friendly staff and good parking. Easy access to close fishing from the dock and easy to get to and from the freeway. June the weather gets very hot so dress appropriately.

Weather is good. At least for us bite was hot. Scenary great and you can fish near cool landmarks (alcatraz and golden gates)

They did say that you might catch more fish when the bay is a bit warmer but we were still very happy with everything we caught and would still come in June! Make sure to bundle up the mornings are chilly on the water but we were prepared and it didn’t bother our kids!

Here We Go Sport Fishing
You need to book a trip with smaller tide movement. We booked on a 7ft tidal change that reduced the chances of catching fish but Captain Ken has been on the water for over 40 years and put us on the halibut.
