Take a long sleeve shirt for the trip out and back in because even if it’s sunny, the wind is chilly.

Water is a little rough. But it's still a good place to fish and have fun in the sun.

It would have been fun to catch something a little bigger. But I think that Spanish mackerel is about the best you can expect at this time of year unless you book a trip that goes out a lot farther from the shore.

Take the motion sickness medication before you go if you've never been on the open water. It's better for the first timers if you don't get sick

Know your dates, what’s in season, and what species is running that time of year. Doing that research will save you the disappointment of not catching your target fish.

Amazing time to get out and enjoy fishing on the gulf coast. One thing I would say is that you should talk to your guide and ask what the best thing to go for is. They'll be able to give you more insight on what will give you the best luck!
