The four hour trip was perfect for younger kids. The charters are the only way to go in my opinion. Be sure to check the dates that fish are in season when booking.

The ride out was a little long (1-1/2 hours) but we were on the fish as soon as we put lines in the water. Make sure you know limits (currently one fish 19” to 24” per person) to manage expectations. We had to put a 30” plus fish back as it was too big, but still a fun catch. We left with a ton of fish in the cooler and were back on land before lunch.
