Went on a Monday - no boat pressure. Hot sun but the pontoon boat was comfortable with a Bimini cover for shade.

Come to Wills to fish northern Lake Conroe, itโs laid-back, with low boat traffic and very pristine. The primary target during May is catfish and you can cast to them and they do put up a fight ranging in size from 2 to 3 pounds. The captain will fillet your catch, but you also have the option to take them home and clean them yourself if you want get more from your catch. Enjoy!

So according to captain Ryan, fish are shallower than normal at this time of year due to spawning season. We fished in waters right along the bank less than 4 feet deep and the maximum depth we fished at another location was 10-12 feet.

Hybrid's were full of shad in mid April, but later in April would likely be better. Only had to through one of four back due to size. Catfish are always plentiful and good to eat.
