Fresh Lake Lewisville Fishing Reports

So, just to keep things a little more interesting, Captain Omar took 3 coworkers out on Lake Lewisville today. The trip started at 10 am, and Joe, Robert, and Carter were exactly on time. It took a little work and a lot of looking, but when the fish were f8nally found, it was game on! The Bobo's Thumper got the fish fired up, and our RSR Lures Baits with Stinger Hooks did the rest! The trio kept 24 nice White Bass and released almost 3 times that amount. Add in the five undersized Hybrid Striper and 2 Blue Cat caught, and it was a great trip. Best of all, we left them biting! We hope to have more trips with these awesome guys when they are in town for work.

We are at the peak of our winter pattern right now for crappie, white bass and striper! We have been fishing out deep all on artificial and the fish are hungry! 40-60' has been the place with the action. It is time for them to gorge in preparation for their journey to the shallow spawning waters. These trips have been a whole lot of fun and catching action for everybody, the lightest bite typically tends to be the biggest fish. All of the lakes in which we serve are fishing well right now.

We have been battling so big winds but also have been coming in with some big boxes! The white bass are going nuts at Lake Lewisville right now. Striper are also on absolute fire at Texoma. Lake Lewisville was stocked with fingerling hybrids last year, currently we are catching a whole bunch of juveniles. During this time we must do our part to protect that amazing fishery. They should be keeper size maybe late this year and next year. Looks like we will be setup with the best hybrid fishing in about a decade! Come and experience some of the best fishing of the year!

The best odds of catching the biggest fish of the year are right now. Texoma striper are fishing so incredibly good it is unreal! Everybody always wants big fish and we certainly get them throughout the year but right now in the coldest part of winter we are getting them really consistently and all on artificials. The crappie bite at Lewisville is also going going nuts. Best I have seen in quite some time numbers wise. A good mix of some 13-14" slabs are being caught as well. Artificial jigs and hand ties are also the secret to that right now. It may seem cold but the winds are going to be looking light this whole weekend. A couple of layers of clothes, a beanie and thick socks mixed in with some hot fishing and you'll forget all about the winter. These patterns should hold through the beginning of March and then we will begin chasing the spawn which is also an incredible time! Spring break is also around the corner and that's usually the kick off of busy season but until then big fish are going to be the target! We have been waiting for the winter temperatures to arrive for a while now. The warm weather has been nice, but switching back and forth between cold and hot has had the white bass, crappie and striper confused. This last cold front dropped the water 13 degrees and has pushed the fish to their winter spots. Fishing can be epic on the coldest nastiest days. A couple layers of clothes and some hot fishing will warm you right up!
