Well anyone who knows me, is I dont lie! I do bend the truth a tad! This fish was caught early in the year, not now! But I am capable any day!. Not now! unless its luck! I have gone to live bait, not that I like it, but its so hot now, the fish are really deep. I hate throwing a cast net, but love resultsl! Good news is you can get a limit almost every day on bait. But at my age, I am the funniest, most polite, longest guide on this lake dating back 26 yeats! I dont even look young, so if thats what your looking for forget it! But I have ways of catching fish that Moses didnt know! Well if he did I havent heard of it, but he did lead into the promise land but thats not Lake Texoma. I do my best, hard worker, catch lots of fish, have a great time, and more proud of that that being the top Guide on this Lake! I did menton I that was probably oldest but thats called experience! As its deep in midsummer, now, fish are deep, and slow to feed. Water temp surface is 86 degrees! What does this mean? They dont feed, eat, bite, as fast as their preferred 30 -40 degree water! So what does that mean? If you dont hit the water earlier after night, at least 6 am, you wont be carching before it gets so hot they “turn off “! Be early, dress cool, and bring sun screen! Its great fishing between 7-11, then they go deep and less bites! Better have a bunch or it gets slow to nada! Yesterday we did it exactly as We got lots, big, and fun, then the heat worsens conditions! You can be using slabs, A rigs, bait but whatever its still hot out and uncomfortable! This will be this way until cooler weather hits and then its getting better in Fall! Book your trips with all this in mind! I dont like the heat but then I get paid to be out in it, but prefer a limit of fish (10 per person) during this time too! So with Fall heading this way, book the fall dates to get your hat in the ring! And the dates you need. This year with all the Hot weather, and tough trips, fish not cooperating, I tried tell these people to Wait. They didnt snd it turned out great and Fun . Fish on small size but a fun Day and Trip!

Had three people out and trolled (best method right now) and got 30 big fish. We were doing lots better than any others, as most were watching us! Fishing is Awesome but its hot out so dress light. Hope c u soon! JD

Book a trip for two or three with Texoma Outfitters and Captain Tim, bring a few drinks and snacks, and have a great time! The stripers were biting pretty steady at the third location we tried, so we anchored and kept catching for the rest of the trip. Book a room in Denison or Sherman for the night before your trip if you're not close and not a morning person like me!
