Boca Grande Inshore Fishing Report – Ove

The inshore fishing around Boca Grande, Florida continues to produce quality redfish. This trip resulted in a beautiful overslot redfish caught fishing shallow mangrove shorelines on a moving tide. Water clarity has been solid, and the redfish are staging along structure in 2–4 feet of water. We’ve been finding success targeting oyster bars, points, and current edges. Live bait has been productive, but artificials are also getting solid eats when presented naturally with the tide. Cooler water temps have these fish feeding consistently throughout the day, especially when the sun gets up and warms the flats. It’s a great time of year for anglers looking to hook into bigger class redfish without heavy boat traffic. In addition to redfish, we’re seeing: • Sheepshead around structure • Speckled trout on grass flats • Snook in deeper pockets If you’re searching for a Boca Grande fishing charter or a Southwest Florida inshore fishing guide, the bite is steady and conditions are lining up nicely. Mangrove Bite is Hot!

The mangrove snapper bite has been on fire. The cold weather is pushing them a little further the past couple of weeks but I would say it's a better than average bite. Knocker rigs with half a cigar minnow seems to do the trick better than squid. 20 pound mono leader with #2 circle hook, get your grill ready.

Daily limits of sheeps in Boca Grande

The fishinv has been non stop, every charter this past two weeks has limited out on sheeps head. The chilly waters atteack these fish and they do not disappoint.
