Trip Summary
The inshore fishing around Boca Grande, Florida continues to produce quality redfish. This trip resulted in a beautiful overslot redfish caught fishing shallow mangrove shorelines on a moving tide.
Water clarity has been solid, and the redfish are staging along structure in 2–4 feet of water. We’ve been finding success targeting oyster bars, points, and current edges. Live bait has been productive, but artificials are also getting solid eats when presented naturally with the tide.
Cooler water temps have these fish feeding consistently throughout the day, especially when the sun gets up and warms the flats. It’s a great time of year for anglers looking to hook into bigger class redfish without heavy boat traffic.
In addition to redfish, we’re seeing:
• Sheepshead around structure
• Speckled trout on grass flats
• Snook in deeper pockets
