Trip Summary
Despite 25 mph winds, 94° heat, and whitecaps on the lake, the fish were still willing to bite! We had a board full of northerns, a few bass, and some crappie to show for it. We tried to target some walleyes, but for whatever reason, they just didn’t want to cooperate today—which is perfectly fine, because the rest of the action more than made up for it.
We tested out all the new casting gear, and it performed flawlessly. The clients were very happy with both the equipment and the overall experience. We focused on transition areas, gravel bottoms, and some clay patches, and also spent some time working the weeds. Every spot gave us something different to think about, making it a truly interesting and dynamic day on the water.
The group did a fantastic job out there, and I’m already looking forward to guiding them again. Hopefully, the lake continues to fish as well as it did today!
