Trip Summary

After the catching 2 nice yellowfins 2 days before the New Zealand team was back on-board for a new fishing adventure. We caught 5 skipjacks early morning and used 3 as live bait. After trolling for some time a splendid blue pointer was on. We had a nice fight against a approx 400 pounds shark which was released afterwards. We then pass by a FAD and saw some activities. We used bonito stripes and were able to catch a dorado. We were back in the lagoon at 3p.m.

We were out for a 5hrs fishing. After an hour out we saw 2 birds feeding at a far distance...on approaching we saw doradoes swimming around. We immediately changed the technique. It paid we were soon fighting a nice bull that we caused after a good fight. On moving to deeper waters we caught 4 more in another school...we then met a school of skipjacks...it was time to move back .... the customer asked to add an hour more...we caught 3 skipjacks...and on the way back we caught 2 more doradoes.

It was a windy day....the sea was a bit choppy too. After an hour waiting we saw some birds at the horizon. When approaching the school 2 doradoes came on the lures but no bite. We immediately changed the technique. Few minutes later 3 doradoes were on. We caught them all. We cross by few other schools but no bite. Later on during the dày we caught a skipjack and a wahoo.

We started at 7a.m. The sea was a bit choppy abd it was windy too. After an hour out we hook a dorado but lost it just before gaffing it. The hook went off. We moved from one school of fish to another...and finished with 4 nice doradoes. The biggest 28 pounds.
