Trip Summary
We always get an uptick in grouper bites and catches after the first cold front of the season. This one in the picture ate a live blue runner on a wreck in 145 feet of water. We catch Black Groupers out to as deep as 400 feet or so. I usually target them in 90-200 feet. The one in the pic came up on 50 pound test with an 80 pound leader, but when I'm targeting them I sometimes step the gear up a bit from there.
