Trip Summary
Today we headed out with our friends Joel and Ross on a mission: catch their first marlin.
The target was clear — go find the billed fish.
We ran north toward the bank known as La Herradura, about 8–10 miles outside Cabo San Lucas. After a couple of hours working that area, we moved to another bank where the captain decided to switch things up and start bottom fishing while trolling the downriggers.
The action started quickly. We hooked and landed three bonitas and barrilete (Atlantic tuna) while trolling on the surface. From there, we kept bottom trolling and the magic happened — we hooked about five marlin, successfully releasing two beautiful striped marlin.
Our clients were thrilled, already thinking of commemorating the moment with a trophy for their man cave — so we guided them on taxidermy options to remember the catch for years to come.
To top it all off, our crew prepared fresh bonita sashimi right on board, which Joel and Ross enjoyed while celebrating Ross’s birthday.
A perfect day of fishing in Cabo San Lucas.
We can’t wait to have you guys back on board for the next adventure.
