Trip Summary

??? **An Independence Day Lake Erie Adventure They'll Be Talking About All Summer!** ??? While their younger brother was competing in a baseball tournament at the Cedar Point C Sportsplex, this crew decided to start their July 4th celebration the best way possible—with an early morning Lake Erie Walleye Charter. The group included two 16-year-old boys, their slughtly older sister, and her boyfriend. As we pulled away from the dock, one of the boys asked, "Are we going to catch a fish?" I laughed and replied, "We'll catch more than one." That prediction came true in a hurry. We headed west of the islands toward the top of the firing range and found ourselves in non-stop action right from the start. For the first hour, rods were firing constantly with about a 10-to-1 ratio of Sheephead to Walleye, keeping everyone busy and entertained. The crew put their playlist on the stereo, turned up the music, and enjoyed a classic summer morning on Lake Erie. As the trip progressed, we kept making adjustments until we dialed in exactly what the fish wanted: small baits and plenty of silver. The winning spread included: ✅ BADMO LURES small Arrowhead blades on crawler harnesses behind Off Shore Tackle Company Off Shore planer boards, 40 to 60 feet back with 2-ounce guppy weights ✅ Silver-backed BADMO Arrowhead spoons on Dipsey Divers, 36 and 42 feet back ✅ Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s pulling blue-and-white J7s Once the pattern came together, the walleyes cooperated and the young crew got exactly what they came for—a true Lake Erie fishing experience. The action was so steady that we stayed busy and didn't take many photos, but sometimes that's a good problem to have. The best report came later from the parents, who let us know the kids had an absolute blast. Thanks for spending part of your Independence Day weekend with BlackH2oDog Charters and making some memories on Lake Erie! ???? #BlackH2oDog #BlackH2oDogCharters #July4thFishing #IndependenceDay #FourthOfJuly #LakeErieWalleye #LakeErieFishing #WalleyeFishing #YouthFishing #NextGenerationAnglers #FamilyFishing #FishingCharter #OhioFishing #GreatLakesFishing #WalleyeNation #BADMOLures #OffShoreTackle #DipseyDivers #BigFishTuffTackle #CedarPointSportsCenter #SummerMemories #FishingLife #CatchAndCook #LakeErieLife #FutureAnglers #RedWhiteAndBlue ???☀️??

? ? Lake Erie Walleye Fishing Report – BlackH2oDog Charters ? ? Some trips are about the fish, and some are about the people. Today's crew was both. Mike, brothers Bill and Rick, and their close friend Bryan have fished with me each of the last six years. Mother Nature forced us to reschedule their original trip, but today's payoff was worth the wait. We were treated to a beautiful Lake Erie sunrise and ended the day with a cooler full of walleye they'll be enjoying until we hit the water together again. The day wasn't short on excitement! We had a little case of the Lake Erie flu ?, discovered a commercial net with our entire spread deployed, and somehow managed to get every line back in without tangling in the net. Well... almost everything. One stickbait came flying into the boat and found Mike's palm. ?? Mike patiently waited while the crew cleared lines before mentioning it. Let's just say everyone got a quick hands-on lesson in hook removal! ?? While we were working our way through the net situation, we made a quick radio call to a boat directly behind us and warned them to turn hard. They avoided disaster and escaped with only a Dipsey grabbing the net. After tracking back, we located the North net marker with " flags" that looked more like streamers than proper net markers. Once back in business, the walleye cooperated nicely. We put together a steady haul of quality Lake Erie fish, although we also had our share of fish that came unbuttoned just shy of the net. Several fish and crawler rigs were lost during the net encounter, but that's all part of fishing. ? **Today's Productive Program:** ✅ Off Shore Tackle Company OR-12 Boards - Berkley Fishing Deep HitStick 9s - 2 oz and 3 oz weights - 60–90 feet back ✅ Rapala J7s - 3 oz weights - 75 feet back ✅ Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s - BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons - 50 feet back on the corners ✅ Dipsey Divers (3 Setting) - Crawler harnesses - Small Arrowhead spinners - Butterfly blades ? The butterfly blades produced the best quality fish of the day. A huge thank you to Mike, Bill, Rick, and Bryan for another memorable trip. It's always a pleasure fishing with customers who have become great friends over the years. Looking forward to the next time we share a sunrise and chase Lake Erie gold together! ? #BlackH2oDogCharters #BlackH2oDog #LakeErieWalleye #WalleyeFishing #LakeErieFishing #FishingReport #BerkleyFishing #OffShoreTackle #Rapala #BADMOLures #BigFishTuff #DipseyDiver #GreatLakesFishing #OhioFishing #WalleyeLimit #SunriseFishing #FishingFriends #LakeErieGold #CatchAndCook #CharterFishing ??️

Brother's Walleye Day
Brother's Walleye Day

? Lake Erie Walleye Report ? Vicky, her husband Paul, and Paul’s brother Bruce made the trip up from the Columbus area and were rewarded with an outstanding day of Lake Erie walleye fishing! We pointed the boat east of Kelleys Island and headed into the rising sun after leaving West Harbor. The fish were holding deep, so we adjusted accordingly. Our corner rods featured jointed Berkley Fishing Flicker Shads and Rapala J9s behind Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s, running 50 and 60 feet back. My custom-painted pattern was especially hot today and put plenty of fish in the boat. The Dipsey Divers on a #3 setting, paired with BADMO LURES Arrowhead blades, were steady producers all morning, running 55 and 65 feet back. On the Off Shore Tackle Company OR-12 planer boards, one side pulled jointed Flicker Shads with 3-ounce weights, 75 and 80 feet back. On the other side, Deep Hit Stick 9s running 40–50 feet behind 2-ounce weights took some of our biggest fish of the day. Everyone was a reeler today, and the action stayed consistent from start to finish. As we turned toward home, we caught and released another 6–8 walleyes, putting the perfect finishing touch on a great trip. Thanks, Vicky, Paul, and Bruce, for a fun day on the water. Lake Erie continues to deliver! ??☀️ #LakeErieWalley #BlackH2oDog #WalleyeFishing #OffShoreTackle #BerkleyFishing #Rapala #BigFishTuffTackle #BadmoBlades #FishingReport #OhioFishing #WestHarbor #BlackH2oDogCharters #KelleysIsland #LimitOutAdventure
