Good Mangrove Snapper Bite on Live Shrim

Fishing has been good around Port Aransas and Aransas Pass. Redfish, speckled trout and black drum have all been biting, giving anglers a nice variety of fish to target. Live shrimp under a popping cork has been producing redfish and trout, while live shrimp on a Carolina rig has been working well for redfish and black drum closer to the bottom. Artificial lures are catching fish too. Four-inch paddle-tail soft plastics and 1/4-ounce gold spoons have been producing good action, especially when covering water for redfish and trout. The redfish and speckled trout bite continues to improve around Port Aransas, Aransas Pass, Ingleside and Corpus Christi Bay. Cooler weather and recent cold fronts are starting to change the fishing patterns, and I’m locating both species more consistently. For redfish, 1/4-ounce gold spoons have been working well while covering grass flats and shorelines. Speckled trout are responding to popping corks with shrimp-style lures. Live shrimp under a popping cork continues to be a dependable choice for redfish, trout, black drum and other inshore species. The early-morning topwater bite is also starting to improve as the water cools. Fall fishing is getting better, and I expect the redfish and trout action to continue improving as temperatures come down. Come spend a morning fishing the Texas Coastal Bend with Clean Fun Fishing.
