Wahoo Time!

Trip Summary

It's tough to get offshore lately, but the rewards are there for the hearty fisherman willing to make the 2.5 hour ride to the Gulf Stream. We're watching the weather for breaks that will allow us to comfortably and safely make it out there, because we know that January and February are when the big Wahoo start moving along the break. Plenty of other fish are out there too. On our last trip, prior to Christmas, we were able to boat several big bonita (False Albacore), some barracuda, a nice king mackerel, and this 40# (appx) Wahoo. The blackfin tuna were jumping, but they managed to avoid our hooks. That just means there are more for next time, though!
