Trip Summary

We were searching for mahi offshore and though we found a giant floater until a huge spray came out of it haha. Two whales were swimming south into the current. We ended up finding mahi on a bucket and they were shy but we hooked two on live bait. Vermilion snapper were biting great but sharks or barracudas were chewing up most of them. Also scored an amberjack and a barracuda.

Plenty of action on some of everyone's favorites out there. Small schools of mahi move close to the reef this time of year and sailfish as well. We target them with live baits and light tackle for a great feel and a lot of fun!

As the summer comes to an end the fishing starts to transition into the fall migration and we see more mahi, tuna, and sailfish move south and feed aggressively orf the reef as the water cools down. The bottom fishing for snapper has been great this month and should continue through October.
