Trip Summary
Early April Sheepshead bite is on fire! The Sheepshead are in the middle of their spawn, and now is the time to get em!! Most of the fish are being found near the pass and they are eating the place down! Shrimp, fiddler crabs, sandfleas, and oysters will definitely do the trick! This has been one of the best sheepshead runs I’ve seen in my entire life living here! On 12 lb test they fight as good as any fish their size, and they taste as great as they are to catch! Bay fishing in the bayous has still been somewhat slow due to all the flooding we continue to have. We have been catching a few pompano, trout, redfish but they haven’t seemed to cut loose quote yet. Gulf fishing is also great. Lots of trigger fish, spanish mackeral, red snappers, cobias, and a few king mackeral and Amberjack here and there. Sharks also seem to be making an appearance near the beach as they usually do during our cobia migration period. So far it’s been a great start to our season, and as the water warms it’s only going to get better! Book your trip today!
