Fish Report February 14th to the 26th

An extremely slow week of fishing for all size boats in Cabo San Lucas, fish was very scarce, with very few Dorado and Billfish to go around, species biting are Bonita, Rooster, Needle Fish, Skip Jack, Spanish Mackerel, Wahoo and the Yellow Tail start to bite. With hot and sunny days all week, an average temperature of 79F, and an average water temperature of 70.7F With 35 fishing trips provided by Sushi Time Sport Fishing, we had a 68% effectiveness catching fish. Our fleet production this week is 30+ bonitas, Rooster, Needle Fish, skip jacks and Spanish Mackerel, 8 Dorado in the +35 lbs. category, 2 Stripped Marlin and 1 Yellow Tail. Our fish mostly caught this week on live bait. The highlight of this week was the first Yellow Tail this season. The Hot spot for this week was on the Pacific side from Sunset Beach to the Old Lighthouse. “Men and fish are alike…. they both get into trouble …… when they open their mouths.”

A very slow week for sport fishing in pangas, with great weather although water a bit cold. Beautiful sea conditions, with some Dorado in the 35 lbs category and Stripped Marlin available, species biting are Bonita, Rooster, Needle Fish, Skip Jack Spanish Mackerel and Wahoo. With hot and sunny days all week, an average temperature of 80 F, and an average water temperature of 74 F. With 35 fishing trips provided by Sushi Time Sport Fishing, we had a 71.42% effectiveness catching fish, a long time Low for Sushi Time. Our fleet production this week is 28+ bonitas, Rooster, Needle Fish, skip jacks and Spanish Mackerel, 25 Dorado in the +35 lbs. category, 3 Stripped Marlin and 2 Wahoo. Our fish mostly caught this week on ballyhoo. The highlight of this week was the Dorado and Marlin. The Hot spot for this week was from the Arch to the Sunset Beach. “I spend most of my life fishing, the rest I just waste.”

A slower week for Sport fishing as the water cooled down in comparison with last week, with beautiful weather and sea conditions, species biting are Bonita, Rooster, Needle Fish, Skip Jack Spanish Mackerel and Wahoo. With chilly but sunny days all week, an average temperature of 78F, and an average water temperature of 75F. With 33 fishing trips provided by Sushi Time Sport Fishing, we had a 87.87% effectiveness catching fish. Our fleet production this week is 53+ bonitas, Rooster, Needle Fish, skip jacks and Spanish Mackerel, 28+ Dorado in the +35 lbs. category, and 4 Stripped Marlin. Our fish mostly caught this week on live bait. The highlight of this week was the rooster fish caught on most of our trips that stayed close to shore. The Hot spot for this week remains the Pacific side from Sunset Beach to the Old Lighthouse. The solution to any problem –work, love, money, whatever –is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be.
