The Sushi Time fleet includes six 23-foot super pangas. These seaworthy fishing boats are made out of heavy-duty fiberglass and usually powered by four-stroke outboard engines (with Suzuki and Yamaha engines being the preferred brands for the Sushi Time fleet). Fighting chairs as well as light tackle are all available for your fishing trip as soon as you step on board, while the deck is also fitted with a live bait tank and icebox. The Sushi Time crew utilizes a variety of rods and reels (20s to 50s) on their excursions, including tackle by Daiwa, Shimano and Penn International.

The trips are run by seasoned, bilingual, native captains that will do everything they can to provide a Cabo fishing experience you won’t soon forget. All of Sushi Time captains are certified by Cabo’s Port Authority and have also been certified in first aid.

Some of the most commonly targeted species include the likes of Roosterfish, Sierra, Yellowtail, Red Snapper, Dorado, Marlin, Shark, Yellowfin, Wahoo as well as any other game fish available in the area during your stay. The tepid waters of the Sea of Cortez blend with the Pacific to provide an impressive variety of big game species, with quality fishing often available throughout the year. Cabo San Lucas is the holder of numerous world records, with over 40,000 billfish hooked each year (most of which are released.)

Fishing licenses are not included in the package price and stand at 18 USD per person. The Sushi Time fleet is located at Main Dock, Dock 4, in front of ‘Señor Frogs’ restaurant.

Arrived early around 6:20 The Sushi time Hefe met us at there Dock and took our balance of payment with an additional $36 for 1 day license for me and wife. I misunderstood at booking and thought this was included since we paid the upgraded boat fee. Still not sure what the difference between bare boat and this was for.  Our boat was one of the Pangas captained by Senor Pedro. He was ready to go as soon as we got to the boat so we ended up leaving a little early. We went out by the rocks and met up with some live bait vendors and acquired some live ballyhoo and mackerel . Pedro put on some squid jigs and we stared trolling around the rocks and up the shoreline on the Pacific side. Shortly after We hooked a small 5 lb Dorado. Somewhere around 7:30am. Thought at this rate this is going to be pretty productive. But as fishing goes we trolled up and down for a hour or 2 more with no more bites. Pedro not giving up took us back down into the Sea of Cortez and put on the mackerel. We were slow trolling this when we hooked in to something large. It took about 20 minutes of hard fighting to get a peek at what we had on. It was 5 to 6 ft thresher shark. As Pedro was trying to bring it into boat it trashed it’s head Back and forth and broke off the leader.  Probably the best thing to happen for it and us as having a shark that big thrashing around on deck in this little panga may have been hazardous.
