Trip Summary

Havent had a night trip in a while and did not know what to expect but we had solid action last night for hours. We started out dropping chicken rigs over 300' deep for Vermillion snapper and hooked into some quality snapper the biggest went 20". After everyones arms were tired we set up at anchor on the reef and put out bags of chum for yellowtail snapper. The first three fish we hooked into broke us off so i thought there were mackerel out there and put on some wire leads and then the chaos started. It was bluefish out there and the action was red hot a fish on every drop back. We still got broken off or sharked every now and then but a good number of fish hit the ice last night. Bluefish are not the most common thing to catch down here in Florida but they are one of the best fish to throw in the smoker. You never know whats going to be moving through out there and last night proved that!
