Trip Summary

I made a quick scouting trip to Shell Beach yesterday to find lots of sheepshead along the rocks of the MRGO. They were taking live shrimp under a cork and holding very close to the rocks. I could have loaded the boat with them but headed further down the rocks only to find stained water, so I went to an inside bay over oyster reefs and the specks where waiting for me. They were a little on the small side but were biting on almost every cast. Once the water clears up a little more Shell Beach will be on fire. I still have some June openings on weekends and weekdays as well as July openings. Book your trip today!

I had the pleasure of having Toni G and her family as my guests on Tuesday. Her son had just proposed to his fiance and her parents were here and they wanted to celebrate the occasion with a fishing trip. After a little instruction they were all casting and soon the fish began coming over the gunwales. When the action was hot, we even had two at time action on double rigs. The fish were a little on the small side today with quite a few throw backs, but they still managed to put 33 trout in the ice chest, which was more than they were able to eat for dinner that night! The action is hot right now so now is the time to book your trip. The fish today were all caught on live and dead shrimp and plastic lures. We fished near the end of the MRGO leaving from Shell Beach.
