Trip Summary
Lots of silver to go around! Happy to be engaged to the love of my life and glad i've secured myself a forever fishing partner!!! We caught two large bones yesterday and had a blast of a day!!
Last week I ran two redfish flyfishing charters. The first charter my client had only a few shots. He hooked a nice red but unfortunately held on too long and popped it off on the initial run. We had about 4 eats. What was interesting was that there were lots of little snooks hanging around the redfish. They were way quicker at attacking the fly before the redfish knew what was happening. We managed to catch two little snooks that ambushed the fly before the tailing redfish could grab it. Most of our shots were within 20ft of the boat.
The following day I took another fly charter out and we had 40+ shots. It was absolutely incredible. No fish were harmed in the making of that trip due to unseasoned fly anglers but lots of laughs and good times were had. It was both anglers first time seeing tailing reds and we got 9 eats. At one point I looked up and there were 200+ redfish as far as the eye could see tailing on the incoming tide. It was a sight to see. We also had a few shots at some good 50-60lb tarpon early on in the day. Looking forward to getting back out there!
