Trip Summary

Caught many crappie of which we kept the 10 largest, including a whopping 16 inch two-pound slab. In addition we caught 3 nice bass. A good day on the water and the fish were cooperating.

Rained all day, but there was none of the infernal wind we've been dealing with lately. Jerry and Jay had a good day and are looking forward to fishing with me again tomorrow. In addition to the crappie, we took two nice-sized channel cats which we released. Water temperature was 69 and all fish were taken from 10-15 depths over 20-25 FOW. Fish were equally taken on crappie jigs and crankbaits.

The fish were celebrating this newlywed couple, until pre-frontal winds blew us off Chickamauga Lake early with 25 - 30 mph gusts. Lots of crappie were landed, but only the 11 inch plus fish were kept. Water temp was 68+ degrees, and all fish were taken trolling 10-15 foot depths over 20-25 FOW.
