Trip Summary

I met Ian and Karen at the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center at 5:45am before having them follow me down the long road to Flamingo. Once we arrived we got the boat in the water it was off to the first spot as the sun was just starting to come up. The tide was super low in the morning and still falling so the water was very muddy and made conditions pretty difficult. All we caught were a few catfish after visiting 6 different spots. We did get to see a large Crocodile sunbathing on the beach which was pretty cool. Finally around 10:30am we decided to turn around and try a spot we had tried right at the beginning and the bite was on there! We caught 6 slot sized snook (28"-33") and Karen caught her first Snook ever! After that we headed to the beach to eat lunch where I cooked up some asparagus, mushrooms and fish. After lunch we tangled with a few big sharks. One of them being a 7-8ft spinner shark that absolutely handed it to us. We ended up losing him but we did end up landing a nice Lemon Shark. Overall a great day out in the park.
