Trip Summary

The Rock On Report Middle Bay Fishing. Bluefish…Bluefish…Bluefish That was the focus the last few weeks! There were some nice ones caught! Stripers AKA “Rockfish” Opens back up tomorrow 8/1 Perch We found some in open deeper “cooler” water last week. The bigger ones are there. Docks throwing small rattle traps or spinner baits have gotten fish. Spot Same as last week. But like the perch…Little deeper “cooler” water. We had a good week catching medium to big spot. The “rockfish candy” size are still being caught a ton, but some good eating sizes were coming in the boat. BLUEFISH ARE HERE IN FORCE. They are hitting metal and live lining works great. G-EYE jig RAIN MINNOW 1oz PINK and Silver Sparkle working great. “MACS” are here finally! Speckled Trout. Some good ones this week. Paddle tails work the best. Cobia and Redfish Nothing this far up yet that we have seen..But are starting to hunt for them this week. Rock On Charter Fishing

Hello Rock On Charter Fishing Community, Get ready for the latest Rock On Report – your go-to source for all things fishing in Middle Bay! Winter Striper Fishing is Here! Snow, ice, freezing rain—less than ideal, but fear not! In just six weeks, March Trophy Striper fishing kicks off with better weather. March is prime time for those seeking a personal best with 40†plus rockfish. Birds are active, but utilizing electronics on contours and structures has proven to yield fantastic trophies. Remember, metal on or near the bottom is the key, and BIG BAITS like G-eye jigs (1oz and 1.5oz) with 7’-8’ Z-man plastics are your ticket to landing big fish. Flutter jigs and spoons are also delivering great results. Perch: Metal on the bottom is enticing the perch, with schools reaching a whopping 20’ thickness. Don’t miss out on this exciting action! Fly Fishing Opportunity: For fly fishing enthusiasts, Orvis Fly Fishing Schools are coming to Maryland! Fly School USA has partnered with Orvis to bring you the Orvis Chesapeake Bay Fly Fishing School in Chesapeake Beach MD.
