Trip Summary

The heat here in august has been very tough. The bite on Fork is starting to heat up. Extended point & road beds 12ft-17ft has been the magic depth. Carolina rig flukes, texas rig 10” worms, drop shots have been the baits of choice. There are fish up shallow on brush close to deeper water try keep boat in no less than 7ft drop shot or small swimbaits has been the bait of choice. There are fish shallow and deeparound rocks, brush, docks, timber, creek swings. Drop shot is the number one bait for catching fish. Bigger fish are coming from a compact jig around creek channels. Welsh is a power plant lake. Fish are in pre spawn. They will be on beds im thr next few weeks. Fish are eating Texas rigged worms and craws, heavy jigs, crank baits, soft jerk baits. Lake Fork is fishing pretty good lost of big fish starting to spawn. Been fishing flooded brush and grass on banks. Due to the weather water temp has been ranging from 60 degrees to 66 degrees.
