Trip Summary
Trip Summary
The Catfish are in transition.
In late summer - early fall, big cats are usually in deep holes and along deep channels ledges - 40-70 ft. In mid fall, they will transition to creek mouths, and move up and down the creeks depending up the time of day following the bait, 15-30 ft. Right now, I have had the most success late afternoons dragging skipjack in larger creeks, dragging from the shallow to the deep. However, the numbers are lower (5-6 fish in an afternoon). Later this month, I expect the same strategy to produce more. Attached is the biggest caught last trip, 18 lb.
