We were out for a full day fishing trip. Knowing that marlins are bitting far out during these last days we headed to deep waters. We went though some schools of tuna and saw schools of bonitoes on the way but no bite. At about 2hrs from shore we saw big schools of skipjacks. We hooked 4 and caught two of them. Not long after a marlin came at the back chasing the lures. The fish was on. We had a nice fight and caught a marlin. We set the lure back. Not long after a bite on the long corner ..then nothing. The fish came again on the long rigger...bang the elastic attaching the line to the Outrigger broke... we could hear the reel singing and could see a splendid blue marlin dancing on it's tail at the back. We started the fight. We managed to catch the fish and were back in the lagoon with some good fish to end this month.

We started the week with 2 marlins o 2 consecutive days. Then 3 days of silence.. no fish at all. Today we decided to go far in the south. To the Flinders bank at about 12 nautical miles from the coast. After we went in a school of fish we had a strike on the long rigger line...then the fish hit the short rigger line twice but the hook did not get that marlin. We then continued our way and hook a 30 pounds wahoo on the shot gun lure. We caught it after a good fight. We put the lure back and few seconds later again same lure... It was a wahoo. We saw some ropes floating at the surface. We put a rappala at the back and caught another wahoo. We then continued our way south west....and about 20 mins later bang ...big strike on the short corner line. In a fraction of seconds about 500 meters of line was out... Other lines were reel quickly in and the rod transferred to the fighting chair. The fight last for an hour. We tried to put the fish in the boat but was too heavy. We put it on the side and continued fishing on the way back to the lagoon.

Out for a 5hrs morning trip. We hearded straight to the deep waters. Just an hour after leaving the lagoon bang...first strike on the shot gun lure....it was a wahoo. We embarked the fish and continued our way...not even 2 minutes later a marlin was at the back playing with the lure. We managed to hook the fish and it was on. The fish really jumped a lot. The marlin was caught after a good fight.
