With the south texas weather in January being a mix of cold and windy to a mild spring like weather, fishing continues to be great using a more patient approach. Live shrimp under a popping cork or a carolina rig has had great success. When the cold snaps with a north northeast wind look for natural channes or deep grass beds, fish tend to school up in the deeper water. When the more mild days come trout,black drum and reds tend to move into the flats. Live bait or artificial with a slow retrival is a great option for this time of year.
