After the catching 2 nice yellowfins 2 days before the New Zealand team was back on-board for a new fishing adventure. We caught 5 skipjacks early morning and used 3 as live bait. After trolling for some time a splendid blue pointer was on. We had a nice fight against a approx 400 pounds shark which was released afterwards. We then pass by a FAD and saw some activities. We used bonito stripes and were able to catch a dorado. We were back in the lagoon at 3p.m.

We started at 7a.m. it was raining and the wind was strong. Once out we had to bring the lures regularly due to sea weeds. No fish at all during the first hours. It was nearly noon when we saw a group of dolphins. We approached with the intention of catching a yellowfin tuna. We were right....as we got a strike on the long rigger. After a good fight the fish was in. We then moved closer to shore where we found a school of skipjacks. On the way to the school we had another strike. We caught a second tuna and were back at 3p.m.

We started at 8a.m an hour after being out we hit in a school of skipjacks and started catching one after the other. We were back at noon with 15 skipjacks.
