What a blessed day out in God's Country with an outstanding father and son's crew from Alabama! I fished with Al and his two sons, Maslin and Trice, on a half day charter. It was a guy's getaway trip before Maslin's wedding today, and they just wanted to catch some fish and spend some time together on the water. Well, I have to say they definitely accomplish both things! They were catching fish from the first stop, and stayed on them the whole trip. Started out with Redfish and a massive Black Drum, then continued on to catch over 30 Redfish, including eight real nice keeper Reds. Kept three and safely released all the rest to fight another day. Finished out the trip on a hot Seatrout bite. They caught and released between 15 to 20 quality Trout in about 30 minutes, all but two were in the 15 to 19 inch range. We left them biting as they needed to get back for pre-wedding functions and responsibilities. The Good Lord really blessed them on this trip with abundance, and I was honored to be able to spend this time with the three of them! I pray that the Lord will bless Maslin and his bride with a long and happy marriage. From what I hear from the guys, it sounds like Maslin got the best catch!!!

I spent the day yesterday fishing with my good friend and multiple time charter client Ian, and his daughter Hannah. They have been dealing with a personal tragedy in their family so I think a little fishing trip was just what the Good Lord prescribed for them! I pray this trip helped them to heal a little. We started out getting on a good Seatrout bite first thing. Kept five good ones for the cooler and released the rest to fight another day. Hannah also caught her first Redfish, which was a keeper and the biggest of the day! She caught her first Seatrout as well, including a nice 17 and a half inch one that was also the biggest Trout of the day. And, of course, she made sure to let her dad know that she caught the biggest fish multiple times during the course of the day?! Captains Cove live shrimp and cut Lady Fish where the preferred bait for the day. It was truly my pleasure to have this incredible father-daughter team on my boat for a day of fishing and healing in God's Country!

I fished with my new clients Ernie and Gigi yesterday. Although it was cold in the morning, things warmed up as the sun came up and turned into an absolutely gorgeous day in God's Country. They wanted some good eating fish so I went to see if the Sheepshead were at one of my spots and found a nice school that we were able to sight fish, which was pretty cool! They also caught a beast of a Pompano along the way which is another incredible tasting fish. Had a couple of firsts on the boat as Ernie caught his first Redfish, one of many yesterday, and Gigi had the hot hand on the Snook as she caught her first, and a few more after that. God's nature was out in full force yesterday as, to Gigi's delight, we had an otter come right up to the boat and she was talking to it and it seemed to be listening?. We had a manatee swim right under the boat so she had a great look at one, which was one of a few we saw out there. Then there was the dolphin pods. Although they are a fisherman's nemesis, it was a pretty cool sight to see them herding up their prey about 30 to 40 yards from the boat, but by the time they were done they were 10 ft away from the boat splashing and feeding. It ruined our bite but it was fun to watch and Gigi got a real kick out of it. So in the end they caught lots of fish, brought home some of the best eating fish in the Gulf of America, and got a close up view of some of God's special creatures!
