Trip Summary

Casey and Tony, brothers from Wisconsin among with close friend Pat set out in search of Walleye following yesterday's big blow. We left West Harbor and headed East of Kelley's Island. We had a slow start running Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 40s with spoons 70/80 back on one side and crawler harnesses 70/90 back on the other. On the corners we ran TruTrip 50s and Dipseys 3 setting 62 back. BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons and Blades with orange and Raspberry backs were our best performers. Rapala FJ7s and single Colorado blades rounded out our program. Speed was 2.1 to 2.4 mph. I could not get a good bite downwind. When I ran the trough, the bite was good ? ?. Late afternoon Father-Son charter with Matt and Max up from Columbus for a little Lake Erie Walleye action. We left West Harbor and fished SE of KI in 42 fow. The jointed Flicker Shad resumed ran the same as last weekend. 43 to 50 back on Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s. Reef Runner Tackle Company Lil Rippers 37 back on 3 Dipsey. BADMO LURES double and single work harnesses with Arrowhead in big and small sizes on TruTrip 40s and 60 back 3oz helped to fill our limits. Off Shore Tackle Company planner boards kept our spread organized using TruTrip 40s and Inline weighted spinners 60 back 3 oz. Tommy, Jennifer and their son Sammy headed to Lake Erie to try their hand at Walleye. We headed Southeast towards the Roller Coasters. We changes up the lineup today, pulling out most of the crawler harnesses. Instead we focused on Reef Runner Tackle Company Deep Lil Rippers on Off Shore Tackle Company planner boards with 2 oz guppy snap weights. We ran the Rippers 20/50. We also ran shallow Lil Rippers on Dipsey 3 setting 36 and 38 back. Can't leave out our main producer the Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. 50s on the corners. 30 and 33 back with Jointed flicker shad. We also added in 2 harnesses one with BADMO Arrowhead large spinner, and one hatchet blade. Both ran 60 back on TruTrip 40 and Offshore boards. Speed until.we limited was 2.1 mph. We all reeled our fish before we got to 9:00. Since we had a lot of time to pass before the fish cleaner opened we set our Deep Lil Ripper back 50 unassisted, keeping all baits above 20 feet. We pointed the boat to the W and ran towards KI and along the SE shore line. We caught fish until we got to 18fow then pulled lines.
