Trip Summary

A beautiful day on Lake Chickamauga during a short 4-hour trip resulted in a mixed bag of drum, crappie, and bass. The crappie were taken with live minnows over brushpiles; the others were taken trolling jigs and crankbaits. Surface water temperature was 49 and the water was stained from heavy rains the day before.n

A nice cool day on Chickamauga for a change. Heavy overcast all day, but we didn't get rained on. A mixed species bag was taken power trolling crankbaits and jigs at 15-18 feet in 20-30 FOW.

The three biggest crappie today were just short of the TARP qualifying length of 14 inches. Other species taken by pushing and pulling crankbaits included white and yellow bass. Additionally, three big largemouths were hooked and lost after a nice show of aerial acrobatics.
