Trip Summary

One of the best things about bottom-fishing is your inability to know what's going on in the depths below. In this instance we were working a pile of Yellow Snapper and small goat fish. Based on the final picture, we know that we got really lucky. We believe we hooked a small goat fish on this rod. As we brought it off the bottom, the pole doubled over and started peeling line! As we fought we could see a beautiful flash 50 ft down. As the fished surfaced we saw a tiny hook buried in the corner of it's mouth. A beautiful and rare Kagami (african pompano)!
