We ran 15 miles to our spot we caught fish the day earlier and after only one nice Salmon and cold water temps (43) the Offshore414's crew knew it was a bad and it would be hard to catch fish in this cold water. With a tip and a hunch we pulled 11 rods and decided to run 20 miles in the opposite direction. The Offshore414 is fast and sips fuel and there is not many charter boats that can do this. After the 15 min run at 38 knots. The crew spotted a world class Salmon jump out of the water in front of the boat and we knew we made the right decision. We soon had lines in again and after the fish dance we caught 2 huge Kings that almost pulled our clients in the water. We ended up with 3 more and 60lbs of great tasting Salmon and some very happy clients.
