Trip Summary
Warmer weather and calm conditions have the Redfish schooled up and hunting for food. We have been catching them using shrimp, minnows and soft plastics on the flats. In deeper water floats with a long leader is working best. The water is very clear this time of year so we've been making the longest casts we can so we don't spook them. Employing this method almost always results in multiple hook ups. Aside from Redfish we've also been catching some Black Drum and Speckled Trout. Expect to see more of these other species as of water continues to warm. We've had a great winter and although it's not over yet I expect fishing to get better and more consistent from here. Let's go!
