Chris and I went on an excellent guided fishing adventure today with Captain Barry Buckland of Sandy River Guide Service. We didn’t catch what we were hoping for (Chinook Salmon or Steelhead) - Chris caught a carp and threw it back. But we learned so much and had such a wonderful time! Captain Barry was extremely knowledgeable and taught us which type of poles, reels, line, and bait to use, how to cast, where the fishing holes in the river are, and lots more. Captain Barry was awesome! His knowledge, patience and attentiveness was refreshing. And the 10 lb. steelhead was not too shabby either, a real beauty! Captain Buckland was very informative and kind to us, especially to my son. He always put us in the best fishing positions and made sure we were always having fun. He was positive the entire trip and provided more value than what was initially offered. Would recommend for beginners and experienced anglers alike!

Barry did everything he could to put us on the fish! He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. If there were fish in the river, I have zero doubt we would have gotten our limit. They just weren’t there that day! But Barry is the best. We’ll definitely book with him again.
