Took a PM 6 hour trip with some family and we had the pleasure to have captain David as our guide. We took a trip two days after a hurricane gone by the keys and wasn’t expecting to get onto anything. That was a risk I was willing to take, told David we are open to fish whatever was biting and he was optimistic about that day and worked very hard to get us on the fish. Overall a great memorable day and we came out with stud snappers! Safe to say that captain David is a go to captain down in the keys and I’ll be back in April.

We had captain Hugh today. It had potential to be a tough day with a northern blowing in and changing weather conditions, but due to the outstanding effort he put into our trip we ended up with a great haul and fantastic experience. I have been out with him several times and every time he produces not only great customer service, but great fishing, which turns into an awesome experience for all involved. From booking, communication, to the final product(fishing) this company does a phenomenal job. They are a great example of what a good fishing charter SHOULD be. Great job Hugh, thanks for the great trip. We can’t wait to get back out and rip some lips again!

My son and I booked this trip. It was an amazing day. The crew was very informative, and explained what we were seeing to help catch more fish. The o ran was a little choppy but it added to the fun.
When we returned to the dock we got to experience a group of nurse sharks, and a manatee, while they filleted our fish. There’s a restaurant ext door that cooks your fish to order.
I would highly recommend this company. It was more like a private trip, which suited us well.

I would like to start this off by saying this was by far the best charter I have been on. This year I’ve been on 9 charters and have never had the experience I had on the reel smoker. I have been fishing my whole life and own a sportfish and a wake boat so I’m familiar. the experience captain ZAC gave my family was truly amazing
He helped my son which is 4 on multiple fish I wish I would have known before because I would have booked him solid all week. As a captain myself I enjoy fishing on other boats to see and learn techniques but on this trip I wanted to be on neutral ground when my son caught his first saltwater fish and zac delivered. “Reel smoker “ as a business owner and a boat owner I just want to say keep this young captain on your fleet it’s impossible to find an employee like this! I would hire him in a heart beat to run my boat!

My wife and I had a really enjoyable 1/2-day birthday trip last week with Captain Stevie on The Reel Smoker. We had a couple conversations with this family run business leading up to our trip to the Keys to talk about what we were looking for, and Captain Stevie did not disappoint. Within 30 minutes of leaving the dock he put us on the fish. My wife caught a beautiful 10 - 12 lb Red Snapper and I hooked a nice Yellow Snapper. Before long we hit our limit on the spawning Mangrove Snappers, and it was off to try a bit more sport fishing. I got lucky with a beautiful bonita, and missed a couple barracuda and a few others due to lack of practice. It would have been nice to see what those fish were because my arms were sore for two days.

We’ve been on multiple charter trips over the years and I have to say that Stevie was one of the harder working captains we’ve experienced. He was very knowledgeable and did his best to make sure we enjoyed our four hours on the water. Plus he plays some really good music.

Another great aspect of the trip was having the restaurant at Hurricane Hole Marina cook up our fresh catch within minutes of returning to port. All in all a great day and when we’re back in the Keys, we’ll be looking for Stevie and team. Thanks fellas, and remember Stevie…“it’s just one jerk waiting on another jerk”. ;-)
